Philosophy of Art

In the words of Anastasia:

'I was born gifted with many talents, and a bipolar disorder.

In other words, I was born an artist yet I truly realized it in the eye of the storm.

As you know, the eye of the storm is actually peaceful while everything around is chaos. That's how I felt. I could not control the circumstances, and living 9 years between prison and house arrest in a foreign country, I held on to what gave me peace: art, spirituality, and literature.

Painting is a constant in my life, being enriched with an infinite curiosity about history, philosophy, mythology, modern and ancient religions... Which, in turn, creates myriads of worlds in my imagination; glimpses of those worlds I bring to canvas. Imagination is one thing that no one can take away from me, as everything material was taken during the persecution.

Only inner peace can eliminate chaos, as empathy eliminates judgement, as harmony eliminates anger. Each artwork that I create transfers these beliefs, thus each painting is filled with strong blessed energy".

Artistic Journey

Anastasia began painting at an early age, and while still living in Russia was tutored by artists of different techniques.

During adolescence and early adulthood Anastasia studied art in England, choosing the classical Italian Renaissance as the main technique. She began by copying dozens of sketches created by Leonardo da Vinci, and later transferring her own ideas onto canvas, with oil as the primary medium.

When digital art first appeared, Anastasia was right there to experiment: mixing mediums that cannot be mixed in real life, experimenting with various techniques and styles of art.
That's when she began studying photography, in order to be able to have accurate references for all the ideas she wished to express in her artworks.

Currently Anastasia paints mostly in digital form, as it gives far more freedom of expression. Her artworks were featured in exhibitions and galleries.
